Here are two paintings that I painted that are similar in colors. The top one is paintined on location with all the salt air, roaring of the ocean and sea spray done in one session. The one below was paintied in the studio in several sessions, gradually building up colors in layers. I compare the two below to the difference betwen Jazz and Classical music. ![]() This painting would be the Jazz version, It is fast and energetic, but not refined in detail. It captures the colors and feeling of the place. ![]() This one in would be the Classical version. It is more refined and with subtle changes in colors nad refined details that evoke a feeling of peace and tranquility. Like subtle changes in melody or beat.
