So what is the magic one needs to know to paint a wonderful seascape? I enjoy painting my seascapes from life, not to say that painting from photos is bad. I just love the sound of the ocean the smell and the feeling in the air as I paint.
Seascape painting is like surfing. You get a board ( your tools) you paddle out, start putting paint on and you refine it over and over. Do you ever wonder why surfers stay in the water and keep paddling out for wave after wave even after they fall off?
Well, painting the sea is much the same. Lots of time and practice.
Surfers don't get good in one session at the beach. You have to be willing to practice. If you enjoy the sea like I do you will enjoy the rides you get as your brush moves along the canvas just as a surfer enjoys the feel of the water and riding a wave.
