Painting in the Hood

4/10/2012

It was such  a beautiful day  the other day that I had to make a mad dash out of the house in the early morning to catch the light on these trees that I saw in a park near my house.
But in my haste, I forgot my canvas. Then I found this old painting in the car that I painted over in orange. Rather that go home, I
decided to use it. Then when I reached for my palette.... I realized I had forgotten that too! So I grabbed a manila envelope from the car to use
instead. It happened that it matched that canvas!
So I got to spend a couple hours painting in this Sycamore grove. No bird music to listen to on this day only the roar of the 605 freeway at my back.

Lucky Feng Shui Koi Pond

Gazing in Koi ponds is a very relaxing experience. I have spent countless hours watching Koi fish in ponds while listening to the bubbling sounds of a nearby fountain. Maybe that is why in the  ancient Chinese Feng Shui philosophy, Koi are considered lucky. These two paintings can be hung side by side or around a mirror or furniture piece.  They would be a very peaceful element to add to any home.
